What makes the Dune so different from other door skins?
Our brand-new door skin, the Dune, is designed to resemble those calm sand dunes at the shore front, right after the tide has gone out, and the design of these lines run seamlessly across the door, horizontally, edge to edge.
What really makes the Dune stand out is the continuation of the design from one side of the Rockdoor to another, with the Dune’s lines falling cleanly into the S-Glaze and continuing to the opposite side, leaving a smooth finish every time.
The Dune really highlights the evolution of composite doors, with homeowners feeling a sense of nostalgia towards woodgrain finishes that lean towards the aesthetics of timber doors, but in more recent years people are developing a new taste for modern, contemporary door styles.
As it is with a number of our competitors, no matter how modern a timber door style looks, with the woodgrain embossing, it cannot be truly contemporary, but what we’ve developed with the Dune is, suiting those looking for a modern, secure composite door.
What door styles are available with the Dune?
Our team have manufactured and crafted two stunning door styles using our new door texture, which are both the perfect, truly contemporary addition to any modern home.
The Dune Retreat and the Dune Vision are two breathtaking door styles that can elevate the front of any home entrance, which despite being brand-new are available in a host of our most popular, contemporary colours complete with door furniture to go along with it.
The stand-out feature of these door styles is the tall glazing that extends nearly the entire length of the door, complete with exclusive glass designs, such as the Reeded, that runs vertically, complementing the style of the door skin whilst incorporating a unique glass design.
Whilst providing a super sleek and narrow glazing option for that ultra-contemporary look, the Dune Retreat’s panel is much narrower than the Dune Vision and although both are different sizes have been designed to allow plentiful amounts of light through your entrance.
Does the Dune skin affect the security of my door?
Whilst this new door skin was originally designed as a new contemporary door skin that would challenge the rulebook of traditional door skins, our priority is your family’s safety and your own.
That’s why when we were designing the Dune, we ran hundreds of different testing procedures in order for us to bring you only the best in composite door security.
The Dune provides homeowners with not only a truly contemporary texture but one that also performs as good as it looks, as a Rockdoor should.
It doesn’t matter whether you combine our traditional door skins’ or the Dune’s skin with your entrance door, you will still be safe from any outside intruder thanks to our multi-point locking system, Diamond 3-star locking cylinder and a £2,000 security guarantee.
Is the Dune as thermally efficient as other Rockdoors?
When considering that Rockdoors as a whole excel in thermal performance, we couldn’t cut any corners when it came to designing the Dune’s intricate texture.
Our 3mm thick PVCU door skin acts as the final barrier between your home and the cold, whilst incorporating all of the traditional elements within the door itself such as a PU foam core and an aluminium-reinforced sub-frame.
Either of our door styles with the Dune’s skin matches up entirely to the thermal performance of any Rockdoor with similar glazing.
